Ghislain Irakoze

Ghislain Irakoze is a cleantech entrepreneur, climate activist, and researcher. He founded Wastezon, a cleantech company that leverages Machine Learning to repurpose electronic materials, and so far recovered over 500 tons of e-waste while impacting over 15000 Rwandans. As a former Research Fellow at the World Wide Web Foundation and Sustainable Partners Inc., Ghislain has developed circular economy policies and frameworks in alignment with circularity for materials. He worked with the EU Commission on Africa-EU Circular Economy Cooperation and has assisted the African Development Bank in developing a green growth investment program in Rwanda. He is a former researcher at Mastercard Foundation’s Youth Think Tank. Ghislain sits on Global Greengrants Fund’s Next Gen Climate Board and EU Commission-International Partnership's Youth Sounding Board. He is Biz 30 Under 30 Honoree and UNEP’s Young Champion of the Earth Prize-Finalist.
