Associate, Strategy, Energy Impact Partners

Madison Freeman is an advisor on innovation and to Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, with a focus on accelerating emerging climate technologies, especially in hard-to-abate sectors like industry and heavy-duty transportation. Before joining the administration, she developed investment strategy at a clean energy venture capital firm, where she helped to establish early-stage funds focused on deep decarbonization breakthroughs and backing underrepresented founders in climate and clean energy. Madison started her career in clean energy policy, holding roles at two global think tanks, the Atlantic Council and the Council on Foreign Relations. She was a 2017 fellow with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute and subsequently established their New York program, where she has served as Inaugural City Director since 2019. She holds a B.A. degree in International Studies and Economics from American University, grew up in Texas, and in her free time enjoys cycling, painting, and hiking.
