Christopher Jackson
Science & Technology Policy Fellow
Christopher Jackson is a Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Office of Senator Tina Smith, where he supports legislative priorities related to energy, environment, and climate. Prior to his current role, he worked in the Office of Energy Programs at the Department of State, managing international aid and technical assistance programs related to power sector and critical minerals governance. He completed his PhD in Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, where he developed nanomaterial tools for genetic engineering in plants.
Chris is an experienced science policy leader, serving in multiple nationally recognized nonprofit organizations. He is currently the Workshops Director and a member of the Steering Committee for Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally. He has held leadership roles with the National Science Policy Network, Journal of Science Policy & Governance and SciTech Forefront, and was a 2022 Clean Energy Leadership Institute fellow. Chris is passionate about creating policy solutions to address our energy and climate challenges.
