Lamisa Chowdhury

Program Officer

Lamisa Chowdhury is a daughter of Bangladeshi immigrants, and grew up in rural Kansas. While attending the University of Kansas, Lamisa collaborated with community organizations on climate and energy efficiency research, advocacy, community outreach.

Prior to Patagonia, Lamisa was based in Washington, DC and served as the Portfolio Manager of the Affordable Housing Retrofit Accelerator at the DC Sustainable Energy Utility, ensuring affordable housing across the district meets their building energy performance standards and becomes healthy, efficient homes for communities. Previously, she served as the Managing Director of NEWHAB, where she built strategies to deepen member connections and understanding of housing, water, and energy justice. Prior to NEWHAB, Lamisa served as the interim Deputy Director of Resilient Communities at the Natural Resources Defense Council. There, she aimed to make communities across the country affordable, sustainable, and just by supporting multidisciplinary teams and advancing holistic solutions to safeguard the health and prosperity of communities.
