Oluoch Brendah
Program Lead
Brendah Oluoch is a dedicated professional with a robust background in environmental advocacy, youth engagement, and climate change initiatives. Currently, I serve as the Umbrella Program Lead at Biodiversity Action Europe (BAE) since July 2021. In this role, I orchestrate the development of communication materials, organize workshops, and facilitate meaningful discussions on environmental issues. From January to December 2022, I served as an Environment and Climate Change Intern at the Youth Café and championed the writing of a policy brief on African Youths and Climate Change in light of COP 27. The policy brief highlighted African Youths' challenges in the climate change advocacy space and provided possible solutions to address these problems.
Education-wise, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and Community Development from Kenyatta University, where I actively contributed to the university's Environmental Club and clinched the Kenya Inter-University Mazingira Competition Award. I further honed my leadership skills through the Aspire Leaders Program at Harvard University, completing a course in Exercising Leadership: Foundational Principles.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I enjoy travelling and bonding with nature and different communities. I find nature beautiful and therapeutic, and I envision a world where humanity treats nature with the dignity it deserves.
