Saustine Lusanzu is a youth advocate and climate activist from Tanzania. With a wealth of experience in advocating for youth and children's rights in the climate space, he has become a prominent figure in the fight for climate justice.
Saustine proudly represents Tanzania as a Global Farmer Network Member, voicing the concerns and solutions of his country's agricultural community on the global stage. He is also a youth advocate at Act4FoodAct4Change, a Hungry for Action Campaign member advocating for food systems and food security, and a Youth Sounding Board member at the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania, run by Restless Development Tanzania.
In 2021, he served as the country coordinator for the UN Climate Change Conference of Youth 16 (COY16) in Glasgow, Scotland. He also attended the Conference of Parties (COP27) held in Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh, in 2022, where he was able to amplify the voice of the voiceless communities in the global south who are displaced and impacted by climate change and demanded climate justice.
In recognition of his exceptional leadership in youth and climate advocacy, Saustine Lusanzu won the prestigious 2022 Young Leader of the Year Male award. This recognition, endorsed by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and powered by Save the Children Tanzania, highlights his remarkable contributions to effecting positive change.
